Denmark's largest energy company, Ørsted, has entered into an agreement with the IT group KMD, which will provide a Software as a Service solution for billing, customer service and self-service for Ørsted's business segment. The solution will streamline Ørsted's business and create better customer experiences. It will be implemented in the first half of 2021.

The new agreement strengthens the strong cooperation between the two companies, as KMD already provides IT solutions to Ørsted. With the new agreement, KMD provides a solution that handles billing and customer service for Ørsted's more than 150,000 points of delivery to business customers for electricity and gas supply. The customers will also gain access to a new self-service portal with increased insight into their consumption.

"We are extremely pleased that Ørsted has chosen us as a partner for a business-critical IT-solution in a regulated area such as energy and supply, into which we have put a lot of effort for several years. In KMD, we are proud to have one of the world's most sustainable companies as a customer and partner. At the same time, Ørsted is a company with a global outlook, which also aligns well with our own international ambitions," says Merete Søby, Executive Vice President and head of Data Driven Solutions at KMD. She continues:

"In KMD, we look forward to supporting Ørsted in providing a very present customer service and ensuring their business-critical cash flows from business customers, whether it be the local business or large C25 companies. At the same time, our solution allows for increased digitization and automation of processes for both Ørsted's employees, management and customers, which will make a big difference in daily life," says Merete Søby.

KMD's billing solution will now be adapted to address specific needs at Ørsted, after which the solution will be implemented during the first half of 2021. The agreement runs for five years. The new agreement has been concluded by tender under SKI Framework Agreement 02.19 SaaS – Cloud.
