Agder Energi and KMD will support the demand for increased flexibility in the Nordic energy markets through partnership agreement

A new partnership agreement between KMD and Norwegian energy company Agder Energi aims to accommodate the increasing complexity in the energy market and greater demand for flexibility in the electricity grid. With the partnership agreement, KMD and Agder Energi will provide technological platforms to effectively optimize the power system and manage energy consuming assets such as heating systems, cooling systems, pumps, and electric cars.

Danish start-up heads to foreign waters with Shell contract

How can a chatbot prevent accidents at sea? The Danish start-up Scoutbase has just landed a contract with Shell UK after a successful pilot project in which they gathered feedback on the well-being of the crew on board through their chatbot. The ambition is to reduce human error through an ongoing insight into human factors such as sleep, well-being and work pressure from the perspective of the seafarers.

Change in KMD’s top management: Eva Berneke leaves KMD and Per Johansson takes over as CEO

One of the key players in the Nordic IT sector changes CEO. After seven years at the head of KMD, Eva Berneke has resigned as CEO of the Denmark based IT group. Per Johansson will become the new CEO on 1 April. Per Johansson has been recruited from within the company, where he has been a member of the top management since 2018.

Blue Atlas robotics' underwater robots receives support from KMD

The underwater inspection of ships no longer strictly requires divers with manual measuring equipment. KMD has invested in Blue Atlas Robotics, which has automated the process with a specially developed robot, and the company points to better data and significant savings for ports, shipping companies, and other maritime entities when the robot is used.

Ørsted in new deal with KMD on billing, customer service and self-service for 150,000 points of delivery in the business segment

Denmark's largest energy company, Ørsted, has entered into an agreement with the IT group KMD, which will provide a Software as a Service solution for billing, customer service and self-service for Ørsted's business segment. Banqsoft acquires Concent to expand and broaden its market position

Nordic technology company Banqsoft, specialized in software for the financial services sector, has entered into an agreement to acquire Norwegian software company Concent. The acquisition will enhance Banqsoft’s capabilities, offer an additional product line within credit management and debt collection, and expand the customer base. The strategic acquisition is part of an international growth strategy supported by Banqsoft’s owner, Danish IT group KMD, part of NEC Corporation, a global leader in the integration of IT and network technologies. Banqsoft will take over customer relations, software and 85 employees located in Norway, Poland and Sweden. The two companies will join forces and continue to grow as one Banqsoft.

KMD buys IT system for disaster assistance from Plass Data

The Danish IT group KMD has just acquired the DVI (Disaster Victim Identification) System International system area from Plass Data. The acquisition includes the IT system, also known as the Plass Data System, as well as customer agreements and the intellectual property rights relating to the product. KMD change of ownership finalized – NEC Corporation installs new Board of Directors

The sale of KMD has now been finalized and the global Japanese technology group NEC Corporation has acquired the Danish IT group. As part of the acquisition, NEC has appointed and installed a new Board of Directors at KMD. The new Chairman is NEC's Executive Vice President, Masakazu Yamashina. A new advisory board is to make football clubs and KMD winners when it comes to using data

Today, football is big business, and the professional football clubs are increasingly taking advantage of big data in their hunt for success. Annual Report: continued growth for KMD

In 2017, the KMD Group continued its growth trajectory and increased its top line. Revenue increased to DKK 5.6 billion in 2017. The ambitions of KMD’s strategy, “KMD on more markets,” were realized in a satisfactory manner in 2017, with growth in the Central Government and Private Sector business segments of 7% and 15% respectively. In the Local Government business segment, KMD maintains its business at just above the level of 2016. Earnings before special items continue to look reasonable despite a slight fall compared with 2016. The year also brought further investments and initiatives that are strengthening KMD's competitiveness.
