In an international project worth a triple-digit million DKK, Denmark’s KMD will help implement a standardized, yet complex SAP-solution customized for the various laws and regulations of the regions where NEC operates.
‘I’m very excited to bring our in-depth knowledge about SAP implementation to more than 100 NEC-owned businesses internationally. We have years of experience in customizing SAP templates to individual needs in the public and private sector. This deal emphasizes our strategic focus of expanding our expertise to international markets,’ says Ruth Wisborg, Executive Vice President and head of Digital Transformation Services in KMD.
After an evaluation and recommendation by KMD, the SAP Model was chosen as the basis for the template and the future common global SAP solution.
The international project will be run jointly by KMD, SAP Denmark and the NEC Group, with implementation based on the newest S/4HANA 2021 technology from SAP and operated as a “RISE with SAP” Private Cloud solution. The project will capitalize on SAP's latest methodology within SAP Activate/Focus Build and will leverage SAP Best Practice and the latest knowledge in AI/ML, Robotic Process Automation in S/4HANA.
Accelerates NEC’s corporate transformation
For Japan-based NEC, who acquired KMD in 2019, it makes great sense to have KMD and SAP Denmark collaborate on implementing a streamlined SAP-solution with local adaptions.
‘We will experience huge efficiency gains by moving more than 100 NEC Group companies onto the same global SAP template, while at the same time, allowing us to benefit from KMD’s considerable knowledge in the area and helping us to achieve NEC’s Mid-Term Management Plan 2025,’ says Aoyama Asako, CFO of NEC’s Global Business Unit.
To SAP Denmark, the collaboration with KMD and NEC emphasizes the value of a strong relationship built over more than a decade of cooperation with KMD in the Danish market.
‘This is a significant milestone in our long partnership with KMD, taking it to the next level, as we now expand on our successful collaboration in the Danish market with a global implementation project,’ says Jørn Jacobsen, MD of SAP Denmark.
