Mentoring Refugees

In 2016 KMD launched a six month mentoring program for refugees with IT-skills. The program was created in cooperation with the Danish Red Cross and the municipality of Aalborg.

The program matches refugees with a KMD employees as a mentors to clarify their path into the Danish job market or the education system. The refugees are trained in how to write a CV, job applications and understand the Danish work culture better. Also, the mentors can use their network to create new contacts and openings for the refugees.

In 2016, KMD employees mentored 16 refugees from Syria and Eritrea. 79 % of the refugees were after the program in employment, internships or begun a masters’ degree.

KMD will continue the program in 2017 with the same number of refugees.
